Raindrops impact generate a significant increase in the noise level inside the building that reduces acoustic comfort and hinders the development of the business activity, especially in those buildings where activities which require special acoustic comfort are to be carried out in order to ensure correct intelligibility of speech, hearing, etc., such as schools, airports, auditoriums, congress palaces or fairgrounds.
In this sense, the traditional systems used do not solve the problem, as the insulations used, (regardless of the density and weight added to the roof), are rigid materials, and they transmit an important part of the impact generated by the rain. An optimal solution is the installation of soft materials that have the ability to dampen the vibrations of the metal support that generates the impact of rain.
Although today the Technical Building Code does not include any requirement for this isolation, it should be noted that there are countries, such as the United Kingdom, where regulations are already available, and regulate the maximum levels of interior noise generated by the rain in buildings such as schools and hospitals, and those buildings that are designed with protection against rain noise will be rewarded with points.
SINTEC, in its continuous commitment to innovation and development, has conducted acoustic insulation tests for rain noise in different roof systems, according to UNE-EN ISO 140- 18: 2006, to offer systems that meet the highest demands .
URDIN SONIC
SINTEC’s URDIN SONIC soundproofing synthetic sheet become the optimal solution and the ideal product for the improvement of the acoustic insulation of metal roofs.
Its high density, 2,000 Kg / m3, together with its high viscoelasticity, allows to significantly increase the levels of acoustic insulation to airborne noise of the roof and at the same time provide significant insulation to the noise of rain and vibrations
